Lao PDR’s Prime Minister Submits a New Directive in Support of NHI’s Sustainable Hydropower Alternatives

On 13th of August 2018, the Prime Minister of Lao PDR submitted a new Letter of Notification directing “the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to collaborate with the Ministry of Education and Sports, the Ministry of Energy and Mines, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, together with other related organizations to research on the results of the study from NHI and the National Plan on Sustainable Hydropower Development of Lao PDR, then report back the results to the Lao government.”  This is the second such directive submitted by the Prime Minister in support of NHI’s Master Plan for Sustainable Hydropower Development of the Xe Kong Basin.
